Mitchell has been awarded
Specialist Accreditation in the field of Personal Injuries from the
Queensland Law Society and completed the Society’s Practice
Management course in 1997. He is currently a member of various
organisations including; Australian Plaintiff Lawyers Association
(APLA); Association of Trial Lawyers of America (ATLA) –
International Member; Standards Australia; Partner in Advocacy with
Unicare; Society for the Advancement of Travel for the Handicapped
(SATH); ACROD – The National Industry Association for Disability
Services; the Brain Injury Association of Qld Inc.; and current
President of the Rotary Club of Broadwater, Southport.
Mitchell has a wide range of legal
experience and interests, predominantly in litigation, risk management, and dispute
resolution. His current law projects include providing advice to psychologists on legal
issues (such as their duty of care, disclosure
of documents, confidentiality, and report writing). Mitchell’s primary role within the
firm is to provide litigation
services which he does with a strong attitude of caring for people
balanced with sound organisational efficiency.
A current Court case took Mitchell to Osaka earlier this year, where he enjoyed
the people, foods and culture.
He has a strong practice in migration law and heads
our migration division, Migration Lawyers Australia. He has completed
studies in immigration law with distinction and is a registered
migration agent.
He also has extensive general litigation experience, in migration
appeals, personal injury work, workplace relations and industrial
law, criminal law, debt collection and commercial litigation.
Jonathan also holds a Bachelor of Science Degree
(Biochemistry major) and has a special interest in forensic medicine.
He holds the honorary role as solicitor to the Gold Coast Welfare
Inter-agency, the Citizens Advice Bureau Gold Coast Inc.
and the Highway Legal Service. He is Vice-President of the latter
two organisations. He periodically gives lectures and talks
to various agency groups. He is MBA’s information technology partner. His
sporting interests include track and field, triathlon,
rugby union and cricket. He is a qualified

CLAYTON GLENISTER B.A. LLB Partner
Clayton completed his Bachelor of
Law Degree at Bond University in 2001 having completed his Bachelor
of Arts Degree majoring in Government and International Relations at the University of Queensland
in 2000.
Clayton is a Commercial and Litigation Lawyer, who
has worked in the areas of Debt Recovery, Insolvency and Bankruptcy,
Intellectual Property Litigation, Family Law, Commercial and Business
disputes and drafting.
Clayton was admitted as solicitor in both NSW and QLD in February
2002.
Clayton is a firm supporter of AFL, is a member of the Northcliffe
Outrigger Canoe Club and is a member of the Gold Coast Advocacy
Group working for the disabled and disadvantaged community in
legal matters.
Clayton is assisting
Robert Balanda in relation to Management Rights purchases and sales
and with Body Corporate disputes.

IAN BISSON LLB

Ian
Bisson was admitted as a solicitor in 1996 and has practiced
exclusively in commercial litigation, debt recovery, insolvency and
dispute resolution for more than 10 years. Formerly a partner in
charge
of the litigation team at another
firm based on the Gold Coast, Ian joined
MBA Lawyers in March, 2009.
Ian specialises in the area
of resolving business disputes and has consulted in relation to
various business matters and has appeared in large, complex Court
matters including contractual and property disputes, insolvency
matters and winding up proceedings,
intellectual property litigation, securities enforcement as
well as having a special interest in body
corporate and management rights disputes.
Ian believes that it is
important to recognise the high level
of service clients require and he
prides himself in being available to service clients’
needs whenever they are required.

WARWICK CHESTERS LLB MLL Senior Consultant
Warwick
was admitted as a solicitor in 1983. He is a
previous partner of the firm and has extensive
experience
in litigation work. Main areas of practice include professional negligence, commercial disputes, compensation
claims and deceased estate disputes.
Warwick also has a particular interest
in
environmental law and has completed his Master of Laws in this field through
the Queensland University of Technology.
Warwick has
previously worked in England for a period doing insurer defence work
for Lloyds of London syndicates and other insurers. Also he
has acted for local insurers such as Suncorp
Insurance
and AAMI. Warwick has also acted for local authorities in environmental issues and
has undertaken prosecutions for them.
Warwick has
previously been a part time lecturer at TAFE
in
commercial law, a tutor for Queensland University of Technology and has been a
guest lecturer at Griffith University

an 11 handicap
golfer.

BARRY MORWOOD B.A. LLB

Barry graduated in Arts and Law from
the Australian National University in 1977, is admitted in Victoria, New South Wales
and Queensland and has been a partner in law firms in New South
Wales and the Gold Coast.
Actively involved in community affairs over the
years including Apex clubs, community radio, arts and theatre
companies, and drug and alcohol rehabilitation projects, Barry
was a member of a Rotary International group study tour of India,
is past President of the Wagga Wagga Chamber of Commerce and has
lectured to many community and business groups on legal topics.
He lives at Burleigh Heads with wife Laura and their three teenage
sons with whom he shares an interest in martial arts, books and
outdoor sports. Barry is also a writer and his current novel “The
Dark Side” is in bookshops and has become a best-seller
around Australia.
He has practised widely, particularly in property
law, business law, commercial litigation and has a strong interest
and experience in family law.

SEIJI ISEKI B.A. (Hons.) LLB. Solicitor
Seiji has lived in Australia since
his late teens been and has been with our firm since completing his
Bachelor of Laws at the University of Queensland in 2000. He has
also completed a Bachelor of
Arts (Hons.) majoring in Korean Language and International Politics at Griffith
University.
He was admitted as a Solicitor in
November 2001 in
both the Supreme Court of Queensland and the High Court of
Australia.
Seiji’s experience is in
litigation, commercial law and personal injuries and he is also able
to accommodate people needing advice on migration, family law and
criminal law by
working in a team with the solicitors that specialise in these
fields.
He has close associations with
various well known organisations in Japan and Australia. His main
focus is on International clients and although
most of his clients are Japanese, he aspires to diversify his
clientele.
He is taking the instructions from
his clients who reside in Japan, and he also makes a number of
business trips to Japan
to
liaise with his Japan based clients and to visit his business
associates.

Robert

Canada Robert also lived in Las Vegas, Nevada for five years prior

Tony has resided
on the Gold
Coast all his life and obtained
his Bachelor of Laws Degree from the Queensland University of Technology in 1986,
and was admitted as a
solicitor in 1986. He has experience
in a wide range of areas of law, however, in recent years has
concentrated on the commercial/property areas.
Tony has assisted clients with the
development of both large and small residential and commercial
ventures and is also actively involved in property development, body
corporate law, management rights, conveyancing, small business
advice, and leasing. Currently, one of his major projects is
representing the developer of a large hi-rise tower in the centre of
Surfers Paradise. He has lectured at TAFE College in real estate
law, is a past President of the Southport Apex Club and is actively
involved with a number of Gold Coast organisations. He is married
with four children.

PETER WARD B.Sc Business Manager
Peter joined the firm in
2002 having immigrated with his family from South
Africa.
Originally trained as a zoologist he taught for a number of years before travelling Western Europe for a year. On his return he made a career in selling mainframe computers for NCR where his interest computers and technology was sparked. A successful career in sales saw him start his own company and branch into property development with a partner. As the administrator and project manager of 3 development companies, and on the back of a rising property market, the Developments included 2 retirement villages with step down and frail care units, as well as a number of community title developments.
After 9 years in property, Peter became the Business Manager for a large legal company in Pietermaritzburg, South Africa, and subsequent to his arrival in Australia, accepted the role of the business manager for MBA.
Peter has a diverse range of skill and experience which allow him to perform any number of functions within the office. He is a qualified MCSE technician (Microsoft Certified Software Engineer); has completed a number of accounting diploma's and is versed in general accounting practice and systems; completed a year in marketing management; and has a high profile
when dealing with staff matters.

MARK MUIR Conveyancing Manager
Mark has been involved in the property
industry for over 15 years with experience mixed between Conveyancing,
Body Corporate Management, Facilities Management and Property Development. Mark has
had exposure to a number of various types
and styles of property developments and in particular spent 5 years
working as the Body Corporate Manager at Sanctuary Cove, one of Australia’s most
complex and affluent developments.
He has
also had experience with both the legal and practical operation of
the Body Corporate and Community Management Act 1997, Building Units
& Group Titles Act 1980, Integrated Resort Development Act 1987,
South Bank Corporation Act 1989, Sanctuary Cove Resort Act 1985,
Mixed Use Development Act 1993 and Retirement Villages Act 1888.
Mark’s
specialty is the management and peculiarities of large layered body
corporate structures. He hasassisted in the initial set up and
running of many Bodies Corporate. In addition Mark’s
